It can be quite difficult and frustrating to study for the Final FRCR (Part A) examination. Long hours of study, professional obligations and keeping up a personal life can result in fatigue and burnout.

The FRCR 2A exam, otherwise known as the Final FRCR (Part A) examination, consists of two single best answer (SBA) question papers. Each paper contains 120 SBA questions and is over 3 hours. This is widely considered to be the toughest exam during radiology training

The exam takes place twice a year. Once in April and the other in November.

Take 3 to 4 months to revise for the exam. Check out our recommended resources in our Revision guide!

• The questions are usually short consisting of 1 or 2 sentences with 5 options (A to E).
• Always pay attention to the sex and age.
• Most , if not all, of the information is of relevance
• THEY ARE NOT TRYING TO TRICK YOU

1. There are two papers. Each paper is marked out of 120.

2. There is no negative marking, so make sure you answer every question

3. You can still pass if you fail one exam. So do not be discouraged if you feel you did badly in one exam.
